Bareboat Review

Here is a review for a bareboat charter we booked late March in the Virgin Islands aboard a Lagoon 52!

“In short, we had a great time on the boat and in the villa on St John. The boat was perfect for our group and everything worked well on the boat. We managed to get the briefing on the first night so we were able to leave the dock by 8:30 am. A few comments on our itinerary:
Day 2: We went to The Indians for snorkeling and then on to the Bight on Norman Island. The restaurant was great and we had fun.
Day 3: We left late from Norman and went to Cooper Island for overnight. The restaurant was opening on April 1st so that might be good to share with others.
Day 4: We tried for the Baths, but it was too rough and they wouldn’t let us get a mooring ball. So went to Leverick Bay for overnight. Fun time there.
Day 5: Went to get gas at Challwell and then to Marina Cay for last overnight. Challwell was very tricky to get into so I recommended to Dream that they inform people about how to approach the dock.
Day 6: Returned the boat by 9:30am and all went smoothly.

I want to thank you for all your help in making this trip a huge success. I hope we will be back again!

On the way to pick up the charter at Dream we stopped at Oil Nut Bay for lunch. Wow, what an amazing time that was. They encouraged us to use the pool, gave us towels, and we had lunch at the table next to Richard Branson. food was good and it was fun to see the place.”

What was the highlight of your charter yacht vacation?
The highlight was the Lagoon 52 for comfort for 10 of us. Sailing a cat that weighs 27,000 pounds was made easy by the layout of lines and winches. Good visibility when sailing and the person at the helm can be joined by many, as there is room for others.
Additional Comments
The services available on the islands varies greatly, but restoration is taking place. It will take a long time to get back to where it was before the hurricanes, but progress is happening.
