Leverick Bay, North Sound

Leverick Bay and North Sound have become quite popular destinations in the BVI for both boaters and land-based guests. Over the last few years, with new management at Leverick Bay, the affable Nick and Monica have gained quite a following.

leverick-marina-nightSome of the things that are of particular interest to boaters are:

1) The barbecue and Mocko Jumbies along with the Latitude Stars band is great for young and old. One of the places that we have started recommending for guests.
2) For some odd reason, we often seem to be up in North Sound on early weeknights. On Tuesday nights there is a barefoot “dance on the beach” with the reggae band Profile.
3) Happy Hour happens from 5 to 6 nightly and is accompanied by half price oysters.
4) Leverick is a good place for reprovisioning, picking up odds and ends at the dive store or at Pussers Store.
5) Fuel Dock, water, and moorings and overnight docks. Just the place to spend a break in the week. Generally, by eating in their restaurant you can find a discount or two on their overnight mooring fees and complimentary ice if you need it too.

The Leverick Bay Restaurant

“The Leverick Bay Restaurant rewards its guests with gourmet lunch and dinners, overlooking the Marina, with fresh local seafood, house cut steaks, and a wide selection of fine wines and spirits. The Restaurant welcomes the 2010 with new surprises.

Enjoy a lunch or fine dinner tasting menu with its wine pairing. This is the best way to try, the Chef de Cuisine, Alex Yates’s creations. Maybe you want to seat on its comfortable sofas while you are savouring a local tropical drink before dinner. The Restaurant’s different levels allow you to contemplate the amazing Leverick Bay view no matter where you are seated.

Perhaps Yates will surprise you with a foie gras with black current sauce…, venison medallions with home grown pumpkins and huckleberry gastric, wild sea bass with coconut risotto, juicy scallops, blue fin tuna sashimi, or Kobe beef tenderloin among others. Leave some space for desserts; you might want to end an exquisite gourmet dinner with a fantastic tiramisu or the cherry and apple crumble that are simply delicious.”

No, I did not write that paragraph above, I took it word for word from their newsletter. However, I have heard very good things about the dining upstairs in the last year.
